ACCESSIBILITY

The James Castle House welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities. Accommodations for differing abilities include wheelchairs (available on a firscome, first serve basis), walking canes, and graded paths for visitors with mobility limitations. 

We offer live American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation during most of our events and during tours upon request.

A Self-Guided Video Tour, delivered in American Sign Language and spoken English, is available onsite. 

Please alert the James Castle House staff of any additional accessibility needs in advance of your visit so we are best able to serve you.

PARKING 

The James Castle House does not have public parking facilities. Visitor parking is available at Castle Hills Park, located one block north of the James Castle House at 5350 Eugene Street. Vehicles bearing appropriate tags for visitors with disabilities may park in reserved accessible parking spots.


CHILDREN & STROLLERS

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Due to limited space, large strollers are not allowed into the James Castle House. Small strollers are available for loan at the General Store on a first come, first served basis. 

PHOTOGRAPHY

The James Castle House allows non-flash photography in most areas. Feel free to photograph friends and family and your favorite artworks and artifacts.  Please note that photography is allowed only for personal, noncommercial use, with the following restrictions:

  • No tripods
  • No flash photography
  • No  selfie sticks
  • No drones

Please honor the "no photography" signs places near some artworks. 

FOOD & DRINK

Food and drink are not permitted at the James Castle House.

Smoking is prohibited at the James Castle House and its grounds.
